MALLOWSHARE PDF GUIDE
Make scanned PDFs searchable with OCR
Recognize text on scanned PDF images

A scanned PDF may contain only photographs of text. OCR detects characters and adds a searchable layer; it does not magically reconstruct the original source Word document, formulas, or exact typefaces.
The optional MallowShare OCR engine uses a local OCR processor and skips existing selectable text pages. It attempts to preserve original born-digital pages and uses a searchable layer for scanned pages.
Proofread names, IDs, handwritten text, tables, numbers, and multilingual documents carefully. Errors are especially common on low-resolution or skewed scans.
